2024 Northwest Waterworks Improvements Phase II. Question Deadline 1/23/2024 @ 12:00 pm All questions concerning this bid shall be submitted in writing at least five business days prior to the online bid opening to Ryan La Russo at larussor@naperville.il.us. The deadline for questions. If required, a written response in the form of an addendum will be issued. No contact with the Water Utility Department shall be made during the bid process. Questions asked after the deadline are not guaranteed a response. a bid bond signed by a surety company authorized to do business in Illinois, a cashier's check or a certified check. For construction projects the bid deposit shall be in an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount of the bid. The scope of wiring and allowance is limited within the SCADA panel and telemetry enclosure. Any wires, equipment and conduits outside the above enclosures are within Contractor's scope, can not be included in the allowance. If total cost for an allowance item is less than the allowance price, the Contractor shall refund the remaining portion back to the owner upon completion of the project. If actual cost exceeds the allowance cost, a change order needs to be submitted for any additional cost beyond the allowance amount. All Overhead and Profit including bonding costs shall be included in the Base Bid amount and shall not be included in the Allowance amount. The City of Naperville is accepting sealed bids from qualified vendors to supply labor, equipment, supplies and material associated with the 2024 NORTHWEST WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II project. The work generally consists of the installation of three VFDs as shown on the engineering plans and noted in the specifications. It also consists of replacing associated pipes, valves, lighting, electrical conduits, concrete, and cables. Painting services are also included. SCOPE OF WORK A. Furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and incidentals required and perform all the painting necessary to complete this Contract in its entirety as specified herein. B. It is the intent of this Section to paint all existing walls, floors, and ceilings in the pump room, and all new valves and pipe supports, all as specified in the painting schedules included in the engineering plan and all other work obviously required to be painted unless otherwise specified. Minor items not mentioned in the schedule of work shall be included in the work of this Section where they come within the general intent of this Section as stated herein. liquidated damages. Liquidated damages for delay in the completion of the project, but not as any other damages for non-conformance, shall be as follows: Substantial Completion: Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day. City as liquidated damages, it being now agreed that said sum is a fair estimate of the amount of damages that said City will sustain due to the bidder's failure to furnish said bonds. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any nonconformity in bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in the best interests of the City.
