Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hays, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 102,000-square-foot educational facility.

The project consists of a 102,000 sf phased interior renovation with associated sitework. The work includes site demolition, selective demolition, earthwork, erosion control, site concrete, brick pavers, decorative fences, landscaping & irrigation, site utilities, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, stone, stone cleaning, cast stone, structural steel, decorative stairs & railings, architectural woodwork, air barriers, EPDM roofing, joint sealants, expansion joints, doors/frames/hardware, security grille, aluminum entrances & storefront, curtain wall, skylights, mirrors, gypsum board assemblies, tile, acoustical ceilings, acoustic wood walls & ceilings, resilient flooring and carpet, stretched fabric wall systems, sound absorbing panels, painting, visual display units, demountable walls, toilet compartments & accessories, wall protection, fire protection specialties, signage, metal shelving & storage cabinets, mobile storage shelving, curtains, roller shades, hydraulic elevators, fire sprinklers, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. The Addendum No. 1 is a part of the Contract Bid and Construction Documents and shall govern in the performance of the Work Questions concerning the Instructions to Bidders, Form of Contract, Insurances and Bonds shall be addressed to the Office of Procurement and Contracts, Department of Administration, Suite 451S, 900 S.W. Jackson Street, Topeka, Kansas 66612, telephone (785) 296-0002 Roofing System: Ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer (EPDM) single-ply membrane. 1. Membrane Attachment: Fully adhered. 2. Warranty: Full system warranty; 15 year Red Shield Limited Warranty covering membrane, and membrane accessories. 3. Comply with applicable local building code requirements. 4. Provide assembly complying with Factory Mutual Corporation (FM) Roof Assembly Classification, FM DS 1-28 and 1-29, and meeting minimum requirements of FM 1-90 wind uplift rating. B. Roofing System Components: Listed in order from the top of the roof down: 1. Membrane: Thickness as specified. 2. Cover Board: Gypsum-based board; cold adhesive attached. 3. Insulation: a. Crickets: Tapered insulation of same type as specified for top layer; slope as indicated. b. Provide a minimum of 2 layers of Insulation board with maximum Individual Board Thickness: 3 inches; use as many layers as necessary; stagger joints in adjacent layers. c. Tapered: Slope as indicated; provide minimum R-value at thinnest point; place tapered layer on bottom. d. Total R Value: 30, minimum
