Site work, remodeling and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a playground / park / athletic field.

The Project is described as: parking lot and pathway renovations to enhance ADA compliance at the Harding Park Golf Clubhouse and parking lot. The scope of this ADA barrier removal project consists of, but is not limited to: demolition of existing concrete and asphalt surfaces, soil excavation, minor grading, construction of a concrete ADA accessible pathway, crosswalks, and curb ramps; replacement and grinding of concrete flags, construction of new loading zone and concrete ADA parking spaces, tree and landscape planting, painting and striping, electrical and irrigation work, signage installation, and the relocation of existing on-site elements (refer to Attachments 1-2). The Harding Park Golf Course is an active recreation facility throughout the year and as such, public and operational access is a priority during construction. To this end the project shall be constructed in three phases (refer to Attachment 3). The project site is Harding Park, an historic, municipal golf course located along the shores of Lake Merced in the southwestern portion of the City and County of San Francisco, California (Figure 1). The golf course (Figure 2) is currently undergoing major renovation and restoration work. Preparation of this illustrated geotechnical report presenting our findings, conclusions and recommendations pertaining to the design and construction of the planned building improvements. Description of the site geology and the soils anticipated beneath the proposed building sites. Excavation and compaction requirements, including suitability of the on-site soils for subgrade material for new building pads, foundations, trench backfill, and for use as general fill. The existing clubhouse will be razed prior to the completion of the new clubhouse. The new clubhouse will have concrete basement walls, and the ground floor will have a 6-inch thick conCrete floor. The new maintenance building will consist of a pre-fabricated metal shell supported on an 8-inch thick concrete slab-on-grade floor. The storage and station building will have 8-inchthick concrete walls and an 8-inch thick concrete slab-on-grade floor. At the time of our study, the planned driving range was being graded. This report provides recommendations for the planned construction of a narrow concrete pad that will support the stalls in the hitting area of the new range.
