As of February 22,2024 the Town of Middlefield received one quote and have chosen not to move forward with this project at this time. No definite date for the rebid. Middlefield Emergency Operation Center Redevelopment. Question Deadline 01/15/2024 at 2:00 PM ET All Requests for Information RFI must be received no later than .and sent electronically. Be sure and plan accordingly as any RFI received after the due date and time stated in this paragraph will not be answered. Also, no RF's will be answered verbally, no phone calls please. The Town anticipates utilizing a Design-Build project delivery method and the Bridging Design Team will be expected to deliver design documents at a 20% Design Development level of completion with a complete set of performance specifications to be used to gauge suitable solutions. In order to maintain the integrity of the competitive bid process, the Firm selected as the Bridging Architect for this project will not be able to participate as part of the team for any Design Builder submitting a Proposal for the construction of this Project. The Town of Middlefield may, in its sole discretion, chose to retain the Bridging Architect's services as a consultant to the Owner during construction for construction administration services. PURPOSE OF SOLICITATION The purpose of this RFP/RFQ is to solicit experienced firms to provide Bridging Documents for bid for the redevelopment of an approximately 10,000 sf fire house / emergency operations center plus an approximate 10,000 sf addition located at 406 Jackson Hill Road in Middlefield CT. The Town anticipates utilizing a Design- Build project delivery method and the Bridging Design Team will be expected to deliver design documents at a 20% Design Development level of completion with a complete set of performance specifications to be used to gauge suitable solutions. SCOPE OF WORK The intent is for the selected firm is to provide the following services: Review existing concept designs and site layout options with Owner. Upon agreement of the preferred concept design, provide all necessary design and engineering work to provide Bridging Documents and basis for design along with performance specifications for bid for the project. Design to Energy Star Certification and best practices. Provide design and engineering of all infrastructure and utilities (both on-site and off-site) to facilitate the construction and development of the site. After issuance of the Bridging Documents, participate in a peer review capacity in the final construction documents completion by the Design-Builder. After the commencement of construction, perform construction administration services to ensure execution of the project consistent with the intent of the Bridging Documents and make regular site visits and participate in project meetings for quality control and to address project issues. The Town also reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or the total propo's al ,to waive any in form alityorte chnical defects, in accordance with the Towns procedures and guide lines if it is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town.
