San Miguel County is soliciting qualifications and proposals for professional environmental services from qualified environmental consulting firms to provide environmental assessment services to the County with the needs outlined in the RFQP. The County plans to select a single Respondent that meets the threshold and selection criteria outlined in this RFQP. The County was awarded a Brownfields Community-Wide Assessment Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for assessment of sites affected by old silver and gold mine tailings, and other natural hazardous threats, which overlap to menace the environmental and economic health of County residents and nearby towns. Many of these former mines are scattered throughout the County and mine tailings, buildings, and equipment were left behind for the County to acquire funding and clean-up. The Contractor hired will be engaged in all facets of this grant, which include, but aren't limited to, the following - Steering Committee Establishment, Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reporting, Ongoing Project Management, Site Inventory and Community Outreach/Engagement, Area Wide Planning and Environmental Planning and Assessment. Question Deadline 01/10/2024 at 5:00 PM MT Questions must be submitted via email to Janet Kask, Director, Parks & Open Space at janetk@sanmiguelcountyco.gov, Questions and written responses will be provided to all interested Respondents, via email. It is the Respondent's responsibility to provide a current email address. Interviews will be held during the week of February 12, 2024 with specific date and time to be determined. Assessment activities are expected to begin by Winter/Spring/Summer 2024 and be completed in the summer of 2027 to enable timely submission of final reports/documentation. Costs will need to be allocated among the various tasks, as appropriate, and all assessment activities must meet Federal and State requirements. The approximate budget breakdown is as follows: County Community-wide Assessment Grant: $500,000. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
