Site work and renovation of a civil project in Sperryville, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Design Tank Replacement and Other Plant Upgrades. Scope of Services: To provide preliminary and detailed design for upgrades and improvements to the Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) wastewater treatment plant located in Sperryville Virginia. RCWSA reserves the right to make multiple awards from this solicitation and the use of the contracted firms shall be at the sole discretion of RCWSA. The Purchasing Agent further reserves the right to reject any proposal if the evidence submitted by, or investigations of, such offeror fails to satisfy the Purchasing Agent that such offeror is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to provide the services and/or furnish the goods contemplated therein. The County reserves the right to ask any offeror to submit information missing from its proposal, to clarify its proposal, and to submit additional information which the Purchasing Agent deems desirable. The RCWSA provides sewer service in and around the Village of Sperryville, Rappahannock County, Virginia. It does not provide water. 2. The Authority was created by the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors in 1968 to address problems arising from the discharge of raw sewage from businesses and residences into the Thornton River. 3. The Authority established a Service District and constructed a Collection System and Sewage Treatment Plant. 4. The Collection System includes septic tanks, at each customer location, pumps, and force mains. The local septic tanks provide primary treatment, and the septic tank effluent is pumped to the Sewage Treatment Plant. The solids are periodically pumped out of the individual septic tanks. 5. The Authority holds a permit from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) allowing it to operate and discharge up to 55,000 gallons per day of treated effluent from the Sewage Treatment Plant into the Thornton River. 6. The plant Permit is available upon request. B. Equalization Tank condition: 1. The existing equalization tank collapsed in 2014. The tank was repaired and put back into service. 2. Subsequent to the collapse the tank was evaluated, and a summary report prepared. The report is available upon request.
