Update:Schelter Rd Water Main Upsizing Project is included in Village of Lincolnshire Fiscal Year 2024-2034 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Village has identified an opportunity to align the water capital plan with the development of 15730 Aptakisic (Pannatoni Warehouse Development). The development of new buildings at this location will trigger the extension of Schelter Road south to Aptakisic Road. The project will also inlcude extension of Margate Drive east to Schelter Road. As with any new road development, the developer is required to install new utilities associated with the development whether it is new installation or expanding/replacement of existing utilities. The Schelter Road portion of the project provides an opportunity to upgrade an existing undersized 8'' water main that is the Village's responsibility. At the time this main was installed, it was needed only to serve one building; 610 Schelter Road. With the new buildings constructed over time and the planned warehouse development, there is an increase demand for fire protection and water service. As a result of this new development, staff proposes to take this opportunity to increase the size of the existing main in this area to 12'' in a diameter. This upsizing will allow the new developments to be served and provide needed fire protection and improve services to existing faciilities. This improvement also adds a hydraulic benefit to the Villages water distribution system by looping water mains in this area. Looping is connecting two sections of water main together to avoid a "dead end" where water can sit and create low water turn over. As of September 26, 2024, per owner, This is tied to a private development in the Village. There is no timeline for project start.
