Remodeling of a detention facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for the remodel of a two-story above grade detention facility.
The work includes but is not limited to remodeling the current two story, 4th floor recreation room. The space will add a floor structure to divide it into a 4th floor and 5th floor. Each floor will have 8 isolation cells, 1 recreation room, and 1 shower. These cells will be used for isolating and limiting the spread of contagious medical conditions through inmate population. Bids shall be made as lump sum bids for the entire work. Prices quoted shall be guaranteed for a period of thirty (30) days after date of the bid. It is intended that a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Linn County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities in any bid or to make award in the best interest of the County. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashiers check or credit union certified share draft, in a separate sealed envelope in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.
