This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and work necessary to perform the asphalt resurfacing of the Turnpike roadway, reprofiling at bridge, B-507, drainage and safety improvements, placing of erosion and sediment pollution controls, maintenance and protection of traffic during construction, and pavement markings. Work items include, but are not limited to: 1,275 CY Excavation, Class 1, Class 1A, and Class 1B 16,526 TON Stone Matrix Asphalt Mixture Design Wearing Course 616 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design Wearing Course 35,249 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design Binder Course 45 TON Subbase (No. 2A) 157,132 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface 72 LF Single Face Concrete Barrier, 52" 852 LF Concrete Median Barrier, 50" 1,600 SY Milling of Concrete Pavement Surface Milepost 133.48 is located approximately 23.5 miles east of the Somerset Interchange, Exit 110, and Milepost 141.68 is located approximately 4.3 miles west of the Bedford Interchange, Exit 146, in Bedford Counties, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project.
