Questions Deadline: 1/26/2024 05:00 PM (CT) Written questions will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. local time on January 26, 2024 Said questions are to be submitted in AmesBids The City of Ames Purchasing Division is the only authorized source of bid documents. Bid documents obtained from any other source may have an incomplete set of documents. Bidders using bid documents not obtained from the City of Ames Purchasing Division on AmesBids are advised to contact to visit amesbids.ionwave.net to enable receipt of necessary addenda. Reproduction of these documents without the express permission of the City of Ames is prohibited. If the accepted bid is over $25,000, the selected Contractor will be required to provide a performance and payment bond equal to the total bid amount. Contractor will include the cost of the performance and payment bond in the bid. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City's Risk Manager and shall guarantee faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee prompt payment of material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the work in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. The contractor shall not include sales or use taxes in the bid. Pursuant to Iowa Code and Iowa Administrative Code, the contractor will be authorized to purchase building materials that will be incorporated into real property on this project tax-free. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provision grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
