The work to be done in general consists of mobilization; traffic control and pedestrian detours; water pollution controls; clearing and grubbing; removal & replacement of concrete sidewalk, curb & gutter; tree root protection; placement of shoulder backing material; curb paint; and all other work shown on the Plans and as specified in these Special Provisions. The Contractor shall possess at least a Class "A," General Engineering Contractor or Class "C-8," Concrete Contractor license at the time bids are opened and during the course of construction of the project, which cost is estimated at $280,000. The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code and with applicable City regulations. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, will be valued by the City's Finance Director, whose decision on valuation of the securities will be final. All Bids Shall Be Presented Under Sealed Cover and Shall Be Accompanied by Cash, Cashier's or Certified Check or a Bidder's Bond Executed by a Corporate Surety Insurer.
