This public improvement consists of the removal and replacement of the windows in 5 classrooms and any associated work, removal and replacement of exterior wall panels located above the windows and any associated metal trim work. The work will also include the installation of new roller shades. Work associated with this project will commence ON May 28, 2024. All work to be substantially completed PRIOR TO August 9, 2024. The contractor in submitting a proposal agrees that the above construction period is acceptable and that he has made all provisions in his proposal to deliver the project by the above stated date provided the Owner accepts the proposal and submits to the contractor a Notice to Proceed or a Contract for Construction within thirty (30) working days of the receipt of bids. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. The form of the bid security shall be as prescribe by Chapter 26.8, Code of Iowa. Bids shall be made as lump sum bids for the entire work. Prices quoted shall be guaranteed for a period of SIXTY (60) days after date of the bid. It is intended that a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Durant Community School Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities in any bid or to make award in the best interest of the School Board. A single original bid proposal shall be enclosed in an envelope marked "Proposal" and bearing the title of the work and the name of the bidder. Bid security shall be in a separate envelope marked "Bid Security" which shall include: -BID SECURITY -HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT Plans and specification can be picked up in-person or delivered. Postage and handling per set of Plans and Specifications of $15.00 is payable in advance and is non-refundable.
