separate and sealed proposals will be received by the Borough of Liberty, Allegheny County, PA for the following project: Walnut Street & Alley Storm Sewer - Work type- Storm Drainage, All other such related and required work. 1 12" SDR 35 storm pipe 260 LF 2 Grass Restoration 300 SQ. YD. 3 Install Inlet 2'x4' 3 EA 4 Install Inlet 2'x6' 1 EA 5 R-6 Rip Rap 1 EA 6 25mm Binder 15 SQ. YD. 7 1 1/2 "9.5mm Wearing 15 SQ. YD. 8 Gravel Restoration 15 SQ. YD LOCATION OF THE WORK All work under this Contract will be performed at Walnut Street and unnamed alley between 'B" Street and "C" Street within the Borough of Liberty, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. - All excavation shall be unclassified and no extra payment will be made for rock, boulders, shale, timbers, logs, old foundations, old street car tracks, masonry or other natural or artificial materials encountered in the trenching operations except as may be noted in the Engineering Specifications. The Contractor shall make personal examination of the locations in which the pipelines are to be constructed to determine for himself the extent of the rock that may be encountered. The Contractor acknowledges there may not be sufficient time to perform pre-bid borings to determine the nature of the subsurface conditions and that the Contractor may have to rely on its visual inspection ofthe site when making a determination as to the character ofthe subsurface conditions. No information regarding subsurface conditions along the routes of the pipelines will be given by the owner. The Contractor shall assume all risks associated with the composition of the subsurface materials and the ease or difficulty of excavation. The Contractor shall not at any time claim a misunderstanding regarding the depth or character of the excavation to be made or in the nature of the materials to be encountered. All proposals must be clearly marked with the name of the project as it appears above. "Compliance is required with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of 1961, P.L. 987, as amended 43 P.S. section 165 et. Seq. Workers shall not be paid less than the prevailing minimum wages as set forth in applicable schedule. All bidders must submit a bid bond in the form of a certified check, bank cashier's check, or other form of negotiable instrument which is guaranteed by a commercial bank, drawn to the order of Liberty Borough in the sum of 10% of the total bid. The Borough reserves the right to accept or reject any form of a bid bond which, in the sole opinion of the borough, does not provide sufficient security for the bid. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any portion of any bid, waiver informality or irregularity of any bid or in the bidding and/or negotiate with the receipt of bids. The Borough reserves the right to increase or decrease any or all quantities. No bid will be accepted after the time herein specified whether or not the bidder has a time other than the official Borough time. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. *NO documents will be issued within 48 hours of the scheduled bid opening. Bid Item #1 - 12" SDR35 storm pipe Contractor shall under this bid price per lineal foot furnish and install 12" diameter SDR35 pipe complete in place including all excavation, bedding and full stone 2B backfill, (no slag) to subgrade. Binder course and all required site and surface restoration, landscaping and all other related and required work, shall be included in Trench Restoration Bid Items. Cost includes removal an disposal of existing storm sewer pipes. Bid Item #2 Unit Price Bid - Grass Restoration The Contractor shall submit a price to furnish and install minimum of 6" topsoil and PADOT seed mix in all pervious areas disturbed during construction, complete in place as intended or reasonably implied on the Contract Plans or in the Contract Documents. Price shall be on a per square yard basis, measured in place. Bid Item #3 Install inlets This bid item shall include purchase, delivery, and installation complete in place of new 2' x 4' type M storm inlets, includes all excavation, bedding, backfill, six (6") false bottom, cast iron frame and bicycle safe grate. Concrete frame and steel frame and grate shall not be acceptable, includes site restoration, and landscaping complete in place. Price shall include all pipe connections, and removal and disposal of existing inlet. Bid Item #4 Install inlets This bid item shall include purchase, delivery, and installation complete in place of new, 2'x 6' type M storm inlets, includes all excavation, bedding, backfill, six (6") false bottom, cast iron frame and bicycle safe grate. Concrete frame and steel frame and grate shall not be acceptable, includes site restoration, and landscaping complete in place. Price shall include all pipe connections, and removal and disposal of existing inlet. Bid Item #5 - Rip Rap 10'x20' Contractor shall supply Rip Rap along hillside to disperse water to nearby waterway. Bid Item #6 - 25mm binder course Contractor shall supply and install 4" as directed of compacted depth of superpave binder course asphalt mixer design HMA binder mix course, PG-64-22, 0.0 to 0.3 ESAL's including but not limited to all edge, surface cleaning and tack cost, complete and in place per specifications Bid Item #7 - 9.5mm wearing course Contractor shall supply and install 1 -1/2" of compacted depth of superpave wearing course asphalt mixture design HMA wearing course, PG-64-22, 0.0 to 0.3 ESAL's including, but not limited to all edge, surface cleaning, tack coat, keyways, adjustment to grade with all valve boxes, manholes and inlets required, transition into driveways as required, driveway transitions to include saw cutting or keyway, if required, or directed by the field representative, complete and in place per specifications.
