Site work and paving for a civil project in Heidelberg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
A bid bond by acceptable surety or a certified check made payable to Heidelberg Township in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid must be provided by each bidder with their bid. The successful bidder, when awarded a contract, shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds (with suitable surety), as specified in the Contract. Heidelberg Township reserves the right to accept any bid or reject any or all bids Contract No. 1 - Pavement improvement work, including base repair and storm sewer replacement The length of the Contract will be from May 1, 2024, to June 29, 2024. Locations- Van Cleve Lane & Acorn Drive Intersection: Beginning on Van Cleve Lane (T-405) approximately 50' south of the intersection with Acorn Drive (T-406), extending onto Acorn Drive approximately 40' east and west. Approximately 500 S.Y. of base repair. Oakwood Avenue (T-409): Beginning at the southern cul-de-sac and extending approximately 750' north to the ending point of the northern cul-de-sac. Approximately 51 S.Y. of base repair. Liberty Road: Beginning at intersection with Ore Field Road (T-375) to intersection with Shellborne Lane (T-420). Approximately 925' x variable width; replace storm pipes and structures as directed, approximately 121 S.Y. of base repair. Shellborne Lane: Beginning at intersection with Yingling Drive (T-374) to end of cul-de-sac, approximately 730' x variable width. Approximately 74 S.Y. of base repair. Contractor shall be responsible for temporary traffic control in accordance with PennDOT Publication 213. The cost thereof shall be incorporated into each Bid Item, as required. No separate payment will be made. The roads may be closed during construction, but local traffic must be accommodated at all times. Advance road closure postings and door hangers shall be placed at least five (5) calendar days in advance with anticipated construction dates. Project Number: 3890.4.22.00 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: ESCALATOR CLAUSE:( if adopted by Municipality.) - 3a - Bid Item No. 1: Base Repair - Perform base repair in areas delineated in the field by Inspector/Engineer. Contractor will be required to provide a minimum 24 hours of notice to ENGINEER to review and mark areas of base repair. Sawcut, remove, and properly dispose of bituminous material, unsuitable base, and subgrade to a depth of 12" below existing road surface as directed. Upon successful proof rolling of subgrade, place and compact 8" PA 2A stone base; Superpave Base Course 25 mm, PG 64S-22, 0.3 to < 3.0 million ESAL'S, at a depth of 4 inches when compacted. All vertical surfaces shall be provided a uniform application of PG 64S-22 prior to placement of Superpave material. Bid Item No. 2: 24" Dia. SLCPP - Unit price per lineal foot shall include furnishing material, labor, equipment, saw cutting, excavation, removal of material, placement of pipe bedding, installation of pipe, tie-ins to existing and proposed stormwater management structures, and fittings required to install 24" SLCPP and properly compact backfill. Bid Item 3: Type S Inlet Top Replacement - Remove existing inlet top and grate, furnish and install new Type S Inlet Top and Grate with any necessary riser sections. Dowel to existing adjacent curbing, any adjacent curbing replacement shall be considered incidental. Base Repair adjacent to the inlet top replacement will be considered incidental and shall be completed in accordance with the base repair bid item. Bid Item 4: Clean and Parge Existing Structure - Remove all loose/damaged parging on existing drainage structures. This includes pipe connection areas as well as riser sections. Furnish and install new concrete parging to the satisfaction of the project representative.
