Located in the Northwestern part of the State, Ellis County, Kansas, is a community of approximately 29,000 residents along Interstate 70 approximately 200 miles west of the state capital in Topeka. County government, organized in 1867, provides services through approximately 180 employees arranged into 12 departments. The County is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners, which appoints a County Administrator to oversee day-to-day operations of the organization. The type of projects/support anticipated under this contract are identified below, however, the requested work will not be limited to this list. Scopes of individual projects, deliverables, schedule, and associated fees will be developed and agreed upon prior to the commencement of work requests under this contract. Some services may be small and ad-hoc in nature and therefore may not require development of deliverables, schedule, and fees. To include the removal of existing rooftop units. Any damage done to the roof materials and/or surface are the responsibility of the contractor to replace/repair. All removed products are to be vacated from the premises to a location determined by the owner. An alternate bid can be submitted for the contractor to purchase the units being replaced, helping to reduce the cost of the project. New rooftop units with associated curb/curb adapter to include: o Five (5 each) 5ton models, o One (1 each) 7.5ton model. This unit will replace a 5ton unit (RTU-1) to provide this unit with two (2) compressors and a return air smoke detector. This will require modifying the air distribution ductwork for this zone for increased airflow and modifying natural gas and electrical service to this unit as required. o One (1each) 3ton model. This proposal, price, and work is to include roofing as required for new work, lifting, and hoisting as required, electrical work as needed for new rooftop units, and testing and balancing of HVAC Systems. Ellis County will be accepting Design/Build Mechanical Request for Proposals to upgrade and replace rooftop equipment at the Ellis County Emergency Services Facility located at 1105 E. 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas. The current rooftop units are not addressing the humidity levels within the buildings. During humid points of the year, humidity levels have risen to almost 80% in the building. The goal of this proposal is to upgrade/replace units to different rooftop units that will adequately address, monitor, and maintain the recommended humidity levels within the entire facility. All proposals must include name of Performance Bonding Company with a 5% Bid Bond to accompany said proposal, including fees for total amount included in the proposal. Successful bidder will submit a Performance and Payment Bond for the full Bid amount accepted to the Owner within 14 days of successful award. All questions received and their answers shall be posted online and emailed to participating Respondents so that all potential Respondents may see them.
