Major items of work include the following: The project consists of installing a booster pump system, electrical upgrades, chlorination building and ATS (automatic transfer switch), and all associated appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents, technical specifications, and plans. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file for review at 700 East Kleberg Avenue, Kingsville TX 78363. Both fees represent reproduction costs and are non-refundable. We reserve the right to process checks electronically by transmitting the amount of the check, routing number, account number, and check serial number to your financial institution. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to the County of Kleberg or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The project to be constructed will be financed with assistance from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) under the U.S. Department of Housing and Texas Urban Development Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) program. The project is subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing DavisBacon and Related Acts wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor, and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. All contractors and subcontractors must be cleared (not suspended or debarred) prior to any formal action authorizing the award of a contract to the contractor. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, Section 3 Businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. The County of Kleberg reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the County of Kleberg for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
