Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Hartford, Vermont. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The Town of Hartford is requesting proposals for professional engineering services related to desired improvements to the Wilder Bike Path Bridge. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Hartford Town Manager's office, Hartford Town Hall (2nd floor), in a clearly marked envelope. Deadline to Submit Questions: 3:00 PM local E.S.T. on Monday February 5th, 2024. Each Consultant seeking consideration for performance of services related to the project must submit a Bid. Proposers are to submit one original copy signed by an officer authorized to bind the company, 1 copy and one digital copy in PDF format. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any minor irregularities in a bid, to accept a part or parts of a bid unless otherwise restricted in this request for bids, to accept any bid which in the judgment of proper officials is deemed in the best interest of the Town, or issue to a subsequent request for bids. The Town also reserves the right to approve or reject any subcontractor proposed for work under this request. The Town reserves the right to select the successful proposer based on bids received without seeking further information or clarification from proposers. Upon review of Bids, the Town may designate the two most qualified bids as finalists. These finalists may be invited to make oral presentations and participate in a questionand-answer session with the Town. All federal, state, and local laws regarding competitive bidding, anti-competitive practices, and conflict of interest shall be applicable to this Request for Bids. The Town does not guarantee that any contract will be awarded because of this request. If a contract award is made but the contract is not executed, the Town does not guarantee that the contract will be re-awarded. The Town of Hartford owns and maintains Bridge 527 along the Wilder Bike Path. This 10'+- wide by 50'+- long Arched Pratt-Style Prefabricated Steel Truss Bridge constructed in 2001 has "weathered" steel floor beams, stringers, and safety rails with 4x12 timber decking set on concrete headwalls with wing walls. The stringers, beams and steel angles securing the deck planks are in very poor or failing condition. The town has recently closed the bridge and seeks to implement a timely plan to reopen it.
