Cudjoe Key Advanced Water Reclamation Facility, Deep Injection Well-1 Injectivity Rehabilitation. A. Work Included: This Section describes the Project in general and provides an overview of the extent of the Work to be performed under this Contract. Detailed requirements and extent of Work is stated in the applicable Specification sections and shown on the Contract Plans. The CONTRACTOR shall, except as otherwise specifically stated herein or in any applicable parts of the Contract Documents, provide and pay for all labor, materials, equipment, tools, construction equipment, and other facilities and services necessary for proper execution, testing, and completion of the Work under this Contract. The CONTRACTOR must have adequate equipment and facilities including replacement parts and supplies readily available. B. The Project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to rehabilitate one (1) Class V, Group 3 deep injection well (DIW-1) for the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (OWNER) at the Cudjoe Regional Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF) by means of brushing the injection casing walls. The project site area is on the AWRF site on Cudjoe Key. The Governing Board of Directors of the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, in Whole or in Part, to Waive Any Irregularities or Informalities in Any Bid, and to Award to Any Party Considered to Be in the Best Interest of the Authority. Any questions should be directed to David Jackson, Purchasing Manager in writing via email to djackson@fkaa.com. The work included in this contract consists of constructing the following: 1. Mobilization and demobilization. 2. Delivery, storage, handling, removal, and disposal of materials and chemicals needed for completion of work. 3. Qualified personnel capable of performing the work and familiar with equipment, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety requirementsfor completing the work. 4. Perform and meet all submittal requirements. 5. Perform field activities as required within the contract documents and in accordance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) approved Operation Permit No. 336267-003-UO/5W. 6. Field activities include but shall not be limited to: a. Casing brushing. 7. Site restoration. Rehabilitation of Injection Well, DIW-1 1. Mobilize or have on standby all necessary equipment to conduct rehabilitation activities. 2. The CONTRACTOR shall kill the well with a brine solution to suppress the artesian wellhead and remove the permanent wellhead and piping. 3. A temporary wellhead system, fabricated to accommodate rehabilitation activities under artesian conditions shall be installed by the CONTRACTOR. 4. Brush casing in DIW-1 in accordance with Specification Section 02850 Well Rehabilitation. 5. Develop DIW-1, using reverse-air development techniques, without use of drill bit. Development effluent shall be injected back into DIW-1 and settled solids shall be disposed offsite, in accordance with Specification Section 02850 Well Rehabilitation. 6. Place DIW-1 back in service, with permanent wellhead and piping, allowing OWNER personnel to conduct specific injectivity testing, in accordance with Section 02850 Well Rehabilitation and Chemical Treatment.
