The San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD or District) is seeking a qualified consultant to coordinate, facilitate, and prepare a SLVWD Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) pursuant to the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, implementing regulations and guidance as they apply to Special Districts. The planning area shall cover the District's Sphere of Influence (see Appendix A). The plan shall also be consistent with the State of California's guidelines (44 CFR 201.6), the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) requirement for an approved mitigation plan, and the FEMA Local Mitigation Plan Guidance. SLVWD has received funding from the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) for the development of this LHMP. The final FEMA- approved LHMP will help identify mitigation actions that will make SLVWD more disaster resistant and allow access to future Cal OES HMGP funding opportunities.
