DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project consists of replacing existing undersized water mains for the consolidation of Forest Springs and Bracken Brae mutual water companies into the San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLWVD). Originally scoped to install 8,960 linear feet of 10-inch and 12-inch water mains, the project now proposes to install a reduced scope of approximately 2,800 linear feet of 12-inch water main. The water main will be installed within publicly maintained Santa Cruz County and Caltrans (State Highway 236) Right-of-Ways Bid security or a bid guaranty bond, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid amount, is required to be submitted with the Bid. The Bidder to whom the award is made will be required to submit a payment bond and a performance bond, each in a principal amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract Price. The fixed liquidated damages amount is hereby established as one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each calendar day of unauthorized delay in completion of the Work. The contract time is hereby established as 270 calendar days. The contract time shall be consecutive calendar days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed SLVWD reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
