The San Lorenzo Valley Water District is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct environmental review for the Echo Tank Replacement Project. The project, located in Boulder Creek, will replace one remaining redwood tank (of three original) and two temporary tanks with a new steel water tank. A map is included in Appendix A, site photos are included in Appendix B, and site plans are available in Appendix The scope of work should include: 1. Biological Resources Evaluation o Field biological survey o Botanical survey (if necessary) o Nesting bird survey (if necessary) 2. Archeological Review (if necessary) o Archival record search (if necessary) o Field inventory (if necessary) 3. Analysis of potential impacts and proposed mitigation 4. CEQA Document Preparation o Notice of Exemption expected The District has received grant funding from the California Department of Water Resources-Urban Community Drought Relief program for the Tank Replacement as part of the Improved Drought Resiliency Project. The purpose of the project is to protect and increase water supply storage for the District. The project area lies in a Wildland-Urban Interface in Santa Cruz County where prolonged drought conditions could put the District's water supplies at extreme risk. Echo tank will be a 120,000-gallon fire-resistant steel tank that replaces three previous 25,000-gallon redwood tanks, two of which were temporarily replaced with 10,000-gallon polyethylene tanks. The project will involve construction of a new tank, foundation, retaining wall, property boundary setback, fence, paving, and potential tree removal (see Appendix C for full details). The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time However, the District reserves the right to consider other factors such as overall cost and may select any qualified applicant, regardless of the assigned rank.
