The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Rehab Mechanical Systems and Interiors, Penfield and Lanigan, including District Geothermal Development project at the State University of New York at Oswego. Penfield Hall, constructed in 1968, is a 192,298 GSF two-story library building. Lanigan Hall, constructed in 1967, is an 88,200 GSF, two-story building that houses a large portion of the Campus' lecture halls and classrooms, and portions of the Communication and Fine/Studio Arts departments. The buildings are adjacent to each other and have not undergone a major renovation since their original construction. The building systems and components are at the end of their useful lives and in poor condition. The Project will provide phased comprehensive mechanical and interior renovations of Penfield and Lanigan Halls. Renovations will include replacement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems as well as needed interior rehabilitations. The Project will also study the use of district-based campus-wide geothermal systems to serve both Penfield and Lanigan Halls utilizing a geothermal exchange. Lastly, the project will study how the project can be phased technically and for reasons of affordability. The Project includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code and ADA requirements.
