All Bids Rejected. Scope of Work: Contractor shall be responsible for providing and installing new photoelectric battery-operated smoke detectors in every bedroom at properties throughout the agency in accordance with Building Code and Federal HUD Regulations. There are approximately 797 wood ceilings and 1,664 concrete ceilings, see table below for bedroom breakdown. Smoke alarm will be installed on ceilings and must be 18 from the wall and 18 from the doorway. Smoke alarm will be installed at least 10 feet from a cooking appliance. Smoke alarm should not: Be installed near windows, doors, or ducts where drafts might interfere with their operation. Installation inside each bedroom; Within 21 feet of any door to a bedroom measured along a path of travel; and Where a smoke detector installed outside a bedroom is separated from an adjacent living area by a door.
