The Lake Panorama Rural Improvement Zone is seeking proposals for the continued dredging of the upper channel and upper basin area(s) of Lake Panorama during 2024. The selected Vendor, if any, shall remove silt and perform other associated work at Lake Panorama using a dredge, workboats and other equipment owned by the RIZ. The Vendor shall be compensated on the basis of the number of cubic yards dredged during each month related to the total removal of not less than 130,000 cubic yards of sediment from the upper basin and upper channel. Such work shall commence as soon as practical in 2024 and shall be completed by no later than December 31, 2024. Bids will be considered by the Owner at a public hearing to be held at the Lake Panorama Association Office, 5006 Panorama Drive, Panora, Iowa 50216, at 7:00 a.m., Central Time, on February 20, 2024 or at such later time and place as may then be fixed. Questions regarding the project should be received in writing by 10:00 a.m. on or before February 9, 2024 (7 days in advance of the bid due date) at said address or via email to lmonat@shive-hattery.com. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the bid amount, and shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. The bid security will be held by the Owner until a contract is fully executed and bonds are approved by the Owner.Bidders shall be prepared to submit a performance bond and payment bond condition on the faithful performance of the contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
