All excavation and construction will be completed by the City of Boise Utility Maintenance division. All trenches will be properly backfilled and compacted and raised to the road surface with 3/4 " road mix. The intent of this bid is to contract with a paving company for the duration of the project. 1. Surface preparation will be required by paving contractor. a. Including removal of gravel to specified depth, final compaction, prep edges, etc. 2. Paving contractor shall use an ACHD approved mix design. Paving will require different thickness as determined in the field and by ACHD inspectors. Paving shall conform to all state and local requirements using best industry standards. The flowing quantities are anticipated: 1. Roadway (3") = 9,390 square feet 2. Intersections (5") = 2,880 square feet Payment will be made on total area paved, based on its corresponding thickness. Prices shall include all labor, equipment, materials, and mobilization necessary to successfully perform the work. The City of Boise Public Works Department oversees the operation of a geothermal heating district that provides direct-use heat to buildings of downtown Boise, Idaho. This is the largest geothermal system in the county heating approximately 90 buildings equating to over 6 million square feet. Geothermal water is primarily used for building heat, but is also used year-round for water heating, pool heating, laundry facility heating and other similar uses. The geothermal system is a two-pipe, direct bury, closed loop system. 177F supply water is pumped from the geothermal aquifer to buildings downtown at pressures ranging from 50-70 psi. After buildings remove heat from the water, the water is collected and piped to an injection well at temperatures ranging from 90F to 170F at pressures at 30-40 psi. Supply lines are typically insulated, and collection lines are not insulated. This bid is intended to provide road paving after construction, including all labor, equipment and material necessary. The City of Boise, Idaho, invites you to submit a sealed Bid for: SFB2024-037 Road Paving (GEO 214) The scope of work of the item being sought to purchase is: This bid is intended to provide road paving after geothermal line construction, including all labor, equipment and material necessary. ARPA funds are being utilized for this purchase. Vendor will need to provide a Unique Entity ID - registration under the governmentwide System for Award Management. Information is available at: sam.gov The City of Boise reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any irregularities in the Bids received and to accept the bid(s) that are in the best interest of the City. Any other coordination, including submitting invoicing, will be with Jon Gunnerson, 208-608-7173 / jgunnerson@cityofboise.org. Work will begin in June 2024 with completion in September 2024. Paving will be needed in various phases throughout the project, not all at one time. Contractor must have availability to respond and complete work within a timely manner. The city will provide a minimum 24-hour notice prior to needing paving. City will provide all needed traffic control. ***Bid Event: In the event of a technology failure, the City reserves the right to accept all Bids submitted and electronically time stamped prior to Bid opening. The City will require Bid receipt document to be on file as proof of timely submission. Bidders are encouraged to confirm the successful up-load of their Bid document. The City will not accept Bids after the scheduled time for opening. The Owner is the City of Boise. ALL BIDS MUST BE SIGNED. If a "Bid Schedule" is present, the Schedule should be completely filled in by the Bidder and included in their Bid. Where Bid formats are requested, Bidder is to comply with all specifications. Additional sheets may be included if more room is needed for technical information, answers, and explanations.
