The Town is seeking proposals to develop a comprehensive Traffic and Parking Plan to address parking issues. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lunenburg consistently receives many visitors, approximately 419,000 in 2019. Lunenburg is also a marine town, home to a working waterfront and several large industrial employers. This RFP aims to provide the Town a comprehensive plan to accommodate the volume and diversity of traffic in Town (tractor-trailers to bicycles) while preserving and enhancing visitors and residents' experiences moving through town. Parking for personal vehicles, commercial vehicles, motor coaches, and recreational vehicles is a critical component. In addition, the winter season brings with it a different set of challenges around snow clearing and the availability of off-street parking for residents without driveways during winter storm events. A comprehensive Traffic and Parking Plan is essential to the Town's growth and value as a cultural destination. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
