The proposed work is located between Morash Lane and Harbourview Drive in the Town of Lunenburg. This project includes connecting the existing watermain at Morash Lane and at Harbourview Drive with a 150-mm dia. PVC pipe. This work also includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: .1 The supply and installation of all materials, equipment and labour required to complete the supply and installation of a 135-meter new 150mm-dia. DR18 PVC Watermain. .2 The supply and installation of all materials, equipment and labour required for the reinstatement of all disturbed areas as indicated on the drawings and specifications or to existing or better condition, including, but not limited to, ground reinstatement, topsoil and seeding, gravel, curbing, driveways, asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalk, guardrail systems, retaining wall, fences, signs, stairs, electrical/communications infrastructure, water/sanitary/storm piping and asphalt line painting. All driveways are to match existing. .3 Notification and coordination with residents and businesses potentially affected by disruptions to water service, sewer service and/or driveway access. Ensuring that disruptions are minimal and rectified as soon as possible. Contractor must coordinate any temporary water shutdowns at least five (5) days prior. Shutdowns can only be initiated with written approval from the Town of Lunenburg. .4 Provision of environmental protection, where required and as per Nova Scotia Environmental Regulations. These may include silt fences, check dams, straw covering, silt bags, silt sacs, pumping, cut-off ditches, rock-lining and straw bales. .5 The work includes traffic control and pedestrian management at the affected parts of the road at Rudolph Drive and Morash Lane. The traffic control plan must be approved by the Town of Lunenburg and is intended to minimize disruption. .6 Provision of dust control measures, including supply, application and maintenance to reduce dust from escaping the site, as well as cleaning and mitigation measures in the immediately impacted areas. Includes application of measures such as regular use of a water truck, application of calcium chloride, temporary asphalt, etc. to proactively control dust during dry conditions (including weekends). .7 Temporary support of utility poles if required, including coordination of work with the Town of Lunenburg, and design of engineered support system and all incidentals. Monitoring of safe clearance, and work modifications as required to maintain safe clearance when working in proximity of overhead power line crossing. .8 Protection of all existing utilities, including notification and coordination with all relevant utilities and obtaining all related approvals. .9 Contractor to follow applicable standards for trenching and excavation work. .10 The work also includes all incidentals in order to complete the work as shown on the drawings.
