Renovation of a water / sewer project in Oswego, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The Project includes the following Work: Replacement of three existing mechanically cleaned bar screens, screenings conveyor, and screenings wash press with four new mechanically cleaned bar screens (one of which will be constructed in a new screening channel), two screenings conveyors, and two screening wash presses in Building B1. Construction of a new Electrical Room and Dumpster Room to be added onto Building B1. Miscellaneous building improvements in Building B1, B1A, and B including process equipment replacement; piping replacement; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment; structural improvements; and electrical and controls replacement. Question Deadline 03/15/2024 All requests for interpretation must be received at least five days prior to the day set for receiving Bids. Addenda will be issued not later than three days prior to the day set for receiving Bids. Failure of any Bidder to receive any such Addendum or interpretation shall not relieve such Bidder from any obligations under the Bid as submitted. All Addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents The Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to OWNER in an amount of 10% of the Bidder's maximum Bid price. Bidders will be required to comply with all laws, including those relating to the employment of labor and the payment of the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker or mechanic needed to execute the contract or perform such work, also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work (including, but not necessarily limited to 820 ILCS 130/1-12 the "Prevailing Wage Act") as ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor for Kendall County, Illinois shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or to perform such work. If at the time this Contract is executed, or if during the term of this Contract, there is excessive unemployment in Illinois as defined in the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, 30 ILCS 570, as two consecutive months of unemployment exceeding 5%, CONTRACTOR agrees to employ a work force that consists of at least 90% Illinois laborers. An "Illinois laborer" is defined as any person who has resided in Illinois for at least 30 days and intends to become or remain an Illinois resident. The Bidder shall require all subcontractors (if any) to conform with said laws, and any rules or regulations now and thereafter issued pursuant to said laws by Bidder, his subcontractors, and/or anyone working through or on behalf of Bidder or Bidder's subcontractors. Contract award shall be made based on the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. The Strand Associates, Inc.(R) project manager is Michael G. Ott, P.E., who can be contacted at Strand Associates, Inc.(R), 1170 Houbolt Road, Joliet, IL 60431, (815) 744 4200 regarding the Project. The Fox Metro Water Reclamation District reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 85 days after the time set for receiving Bids.
