Renovation of a fire / police facility in Manchester, New Hampshire. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
As of September 3, 2024, construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2024. All interested parties are invited to attend. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written consent of the Department of Public Works. The Project involves provisions for a new NFPA Fire Sprinkler system consisting of existing site review, design, equipment, materials, delivery and installation followed up with testing and written approval by the Manchester Fire Department as specified in this RFP to the Manchester Fire Station #3 located 2033 South Willow Street, Manchester, NH 03103.The City will enter into a written contract and utilizing a purchase order to the selected contractor who will be responsible for supply and completing all aspects of the project as defined in this RFP. The contractor will conduct a thorough review of the existing site and of the requested equipment and must take responsibility for the entire contract and provide the City with a one-year warranty starting once all equipment has final written approval from the Manchester Fire Department. The construction start date is to be coordinated with the owner but can be understood to be springtime of 2024. Substantial completion shall occur not more than 30 days after start of construction.The Owner will occupy the existing facility (operational Fire Station) during this timeframe and the contractor will need to anticipate the operating schedule. The City of Manchester, New Hampshire reserves the right to waive all formalities and reject any and all proposals or to accept any proposal. A 5% Bid Bond from a broker authorized in the State of New Hampshire is required to be submitted with the bid. Selection of the successful consultant will be in accordance with chapter 39: procurement code of the City of Manchester, code of ordinances. The City of Manchester, New Hampshire reserves the right to waive all formalities and reject any and all proposals or to accept any proposal. The contact person for the project is Mr. Eric Krueger, Facilities Superintendent, Facilities Division, City of Manchester; questions on this project will only (no phone calls please) be taken in the form of electronic mail addressed to ekrueger@manchesternh.gov Selection of the successful bidder will be in accordance with Chapter 39: Procurement Code of the City of Manchester, Code of Ordinances. The Chief of Facilities reserves the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that appears to be in the best interest of the City. Failure to submit all information called for may be sufficient for disqualification. Questions or comments regarding this proposal shall be directed in writing only via email to Eric Krueger ekrueger@manchesternh.gov and received no later than 8 am on Friday February 15, 2024. All questions and responses pertaining to this proposal and/or any amendments will be posted to the City's purchasing website. The Department of Public Works reserves the right to extend the contract for a period of up to three years, to the successful bidder or bidders after the issuance of a contract or purchase order on any City of Manchester project related to sprinkler systems. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
