Project Description: The proposed scope of work includes the rehabilitation of sanitary sewers on and within several streets in the City of Mill Valley. As outlined in the schedule of bid items, this work includes, but is not limited to, implementation of water pollution control plan; traffic control; potholing to locate utilities; asphalt removal; removal and replacement of concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and driveways; clearing and grubbing, excavation, subgrade preparation, placement and compaction of aggregate base; replacement of sanitary sewer pipelines by open trenching; rehabilitation of reconnection and repair/replacement of sewer laterals; placement of asphalt concrete pavement; applying striping, and markers; and all other work as shown on the Plans, as called for in the Special Provisions, and as directed by the Engineer. The Engineers Estimate for the Base Bid is $2,555,600 and for the Alternates is $132,400 with a Total Bid of $2,688,000. The determination of the apparent lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the Total Bid (Base Bid + Bid Alternates) contract. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the City of Mill Valley shall accompany the Proposal. Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within thirty (30) days after receipt of proposals. The City of Mill Valley reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. The provisions of Public Contract Code 22300, regarding substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance shall apply to this contract. No Prebid meeting is scheduled for this project.
