The work shall be at various locations throughout Tuscola County or state highways under the maintenance jurisdiction of the Tuscola County Road Commission. The work shall consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the treatment of cracks in bituminous pavements by the Overband Crack Fill Method. The Overband Crack Fill Method consists of cleaning the crack in bituminous pavements and placing the specified materials into and over the crack to eliminate water infiltration. Section 502 of the 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction shall be followed except as herein stated. Schedule: Contractor shall provide the Tuscola County Road Commission 7 days advance notice prior to mobilization to allow for any prep work to be completed. Work shall be completed within 60 days of notification, no later than seasonal limitations per MDOT 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction unless approved otherwise by the Engineer or work shall be forfeited to next available contractor and/or Liquidated damages may be assessed at a rate of $100.00 per day per project location. The Tuscola County Road Commission will provide a complete list of overband crack seal locations to the Contractor by June 30, 2024 so that the work can be properly scheduled. Projects may be added or deleted as mutually agreed upon by the Road Commission and the Contractor. All local road projects listed are subject to the approval and award of the project at the township level. Materials: Overband Crack Fill Method - Shall follow Overband (Alternate 1). . Hot Poured Joint Sealant - Shall be from the Qualified Products List. Traffic Control: Temporary Traffic Control is the responsibility of the contractor. The project will be open to traffic during the life of the project. All temporary traffic control required shall be in accordance with the Michigan Manual on Uniform Traffic Control and the attached Special Provision for maintaining traffic. All costs for maintaining traffic control shall be included in the unit price bid.
