Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 150,000-square-foot educational facility.
The Town of Madison ("Town) and the Madison Board of Education ("BOE") invite qualified firms and individuals to provide comprehensive Qualifications for Construction Management Services associated with the design and construction in the Polson Middle School for HVAC Modernization, Electrical Power and Distribution Upgrade, Auditorium Modernization located at 302 Green Hill Road, Madison, CT (the "Polson Middle School Project"). A School Building Committee appointed by the Board of Selectmen will be overseeing this project (the "SBC"). The Town reserves the rights to amend or terminate this RFQ, to reject any or all respondents, to request any additional information, to waive any informalities or non-material deficiencies in a response, accept all or any part of a qualification, and to take any and all other action that, in the Towns sole judgment, will be in its best interests. The Town reserves the right to ask any respondent to clarify its response or to submit additional information that the Town in its sole discretion deems desirable. Questions must be submitted by Friday, March 1, 2024, by 2:00 p.m. A final addendum if required will be posted on the Town and by Tuesday, March 5, 2024, by 2:00 p.m. Projects included in this RFQ are identified below. 1. Polson HVAC Modernization A feasibility study was completed by BL Companies in March of 2023. The purpose of this study was to identify three possible project approaches design approaches, their life cycle costs, and long-term energy impact. Three system options were investigated and presented to the Town for consideration. It was determined that the most feasible design approach was Option 1: VRF and DOAS. See 'Exhibit E - BL Companies Feasibility Report'. Project Goals: Provide 100% air conditioning and heating to the school; improve and control indoor air quality per current ASHRAE/ state/ federal guidance; provide new building management system for all HVAC system, safeties, and energy management requirements; upgrade or replace electrical distribution panels through out the building; obtain maximum utility incentives, federal incentives/grants, state incentives/ grants, and rebates.
