As of August 20, 2024, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the final planning status and pending permits. It is anticipated bidding will commence in 2-3 month. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. This project is included in the City of Crestview's FY 2024-2029 CIP. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Crestview has seen significant growth in recent years and that growth has created the need to expand and build new residential communities. This growth has led to an increase in influent flow at the Crestview Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). In addition, construction of the SR 85 bypass road and East-West corridor has begun and these roadways are being constructed on the existing effluent spray field area, thus reducing overall effluent disposal capacity at the WWTP. As part of the Phase IV WWTP Expansion and Rapid-Rate Infiltration Basins (RIBs) project, Jacobs designed the current RIBs site (5 RIBs with 0.63 million gallons per day (mgd) permitted to capacity) to be expanded by the construction of RIB No. 6 as required by area growth, influent flows and property acquisition. The existing RIB system was put into service in July 2014. The City purchased an approximately 49-acre parcel to the Northeast of the WWTP to construct additional RIBs and help satisfy the need for additional effluent disposal capacity. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
