Site work, paving and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Rehabilitate the bridge on CTH C over the Des Plaines River located 0.4 miles east of East Frontage Road. The bridge is in poor condition exhibiting severe deterioration on the deck and the abutment. The county was awarded State Transportation Bridge program funding for both design and construction. Design work was initiated in 2024 with anticipated construction completion in 2025. If this project is not undertaken, the bridge could be closed to traffic due to low structural sufficiency rating and possibly catastrophic failure. As of February 17, 2025, this project is in the Kenosha County's FY 2025 Capital Budget. Further information regarding a design firm or timeline for construction has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
