This project was identified as part of the Villages 2016 Comprehensive Plan. The project will install a multi-use path that extends from the south side of the Metra station to Main Street through the construction of a bridge over Irving Park Road. This project consists of constructing a multi-use path between Roselle’s Town Center to the Roselle Metra Station. The proposed path will provide a connection for transit commuters, residential areas, and recreational and business destinations. Part of this project involves the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Irving Park Road. This bridge will reduce conflicts along this high-volume road by reducing the number of pedestrians who would cross at the intersection of Irving Park Road and Maple Avenue. The Village was awarded a $2.9 million grant to construct a shared-use bike path and pedestrian bridge from the Roselle Metra Station to Main Street. Preliminary engineering work will take place in 2024; construction will take place in 2025.
