Northumberland County desires to engage the services of qualified professional engineering firms to perform a variety of professional engineering services, which may include civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and controls, construction management, inspection services, and associated surveying, environmental, permitting geotechnical, and architectural services. The awarded firms may also be expected to perform plan review assistance on utility, stormwater management, and building projects as needed. Projects may include the evaluation, programming and design of public facilities; professional services associated with the evaluation, repair and/or rehabilitation of structural, electrical and mechanical systems; master planning for facilities; professional services associated with emergencies and natural disasters, environmental and regulatory compliance, and regulatory issues; and, professional services associated with site and facility planning, facility assessment planning and capital planning assistance, space needs assessments, engineering, surveying, environmental studies, stormwater management, TMDL compliance, geotechnical services, and construction management, preparing evaluations, bid documents, technical memorandums and preliminary engineering/architectural design plans and reports for compliance with building codes, detail design and construction management and inspection services for construction projects if a design is chosen to be bided for construction, and inspection services associated with projects and capital improvement projects.
