West Clay Street, Wortham Street, and East Burwell Street Water System Improvements Project. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 5 percent of Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates) and in the form of a Bid bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 6.01 of the General Conditions. Such Bid bond will be issued in the form included in the Bidding Documents. Bid security must be at least 5% of the Bidder's maximum Bid price. The Project includes the following Work: The work shall include, but shall not be limited to, construction of approximately 923 linear feet of 8 waterline, 1,343 linear feet of 6 waterline, installation of new service lines, abandonment of old water mains, and related appurtenances as shown on the Plans and as described in the Contract Documents. The City of Salem, Virginia, is requesting sealed bids from qualified and licensed bidders for the construction of approximately 923 linear feet of 8 waterline, 1,343 linear feet of 6 waterline, installation of new service lines, abandonment of old water mains, and related appurtenances as shown. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids. Owner also reserves the right to waive all minor Bid informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the Work.
