As per the Owner the project has been cancelled. This project will be rebid on a later date that has not yet been determined. OPWDD's Contract Management Unit for Taconic DDSOO is soliciting quotes from responsible and qualified MWBE, SDVOB, or NYS Small Business contractors to perform excavation and installation of piping to serve as a cross-connection to manage excess storm water for the OPWDD Taconic DDSOO Campus located in Wassaic, New York. A. Excavation: 1) Locate and mark out any underground utilities in the vicinity of the area to be excavated. 2) Dig down to expose bottoms of manholes noted in Exhibit A - Taconic DDSOO Campus Map and Exhibit B - Location Details and Photos. Care shall be taken not to damage existing manhole structures. 3) Install temporary shoring as necessary to work in the two pits that should be roughly 10-15 feet deep. B. Cross-connection: 1) Install piping at lowest feasible point to connect the pairs of manholes to slope from the sanitary manholes to the storm manholes. Select pipe sizes based on current outlet sizes from sanitary manholes. 2) Cross-connection should be installed with the understanding that it is a temporary bypass that will later need to be sealed to isolate the two flows again. 3) Temporarily seal outlet in sanitary manholes to divert all flow to storm water manholes. Expect that this plug should be left in place for up to five years. C. Site Restoration: 1) All area that is dug-up and disturbed shall be filled, patched and/or reseeded. Additional storm water has been entering the floor drains in several campus structures. Because the flow in these lines is clean water, OPWDD would like to reroute this flow to the storm water outfall. Selected contractor is expected to complete the excavation and installation of piping within 30 days of Contract Start Date.
