Project Description: The project includes the following work: Roofing and Sheet Metal Repairs: Includes, but is not limited to, slate roofing repairs, flashing replacement, copper gutter repairs, partial downspout replacement, and replacement of low-slope roofing. Roof Access and Fall Protection: Includes, but is not limited to, installation of roof access ladder and fall protection anchors. Structural Improvements: Includes, but is not limited to, reinforcement of select building appendages, including precast stone gable and parapet caps, as well as unreinforced masonry. Painting: Includes, but is not limited to, painting of interior finishes, and exterior doors and frames. If Alternate #1 is approved by Owner, scope of work will be increased to include repair of degraded gable ends and installation of new flashing. If Alternate #2 is approved by Owner, scope of work will be increased to include the replacement of all copper gutters and downspout connections to existing conductor heads. If Alternate #3 is approved by Owner, scope of work will be increased to include refinishing of interior woodwork and exterior wood doors. The University of Washington intends to issue a Notice to Proceed to allow for pre-planning to commence and arrange for long lead-time item procurement, such as the slate roof tile.
