Renovation of a power facility in Yuma, Arizona. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a power facility.
Harcuvar Substation, located in Yuma County, provides power to Bouse Hills (BSH) and Little Harquahala (LHQ) Pumping Plants via 115-kilovolt (kV) radial transmission lines to each pumping plant. The scope of this project at the Harcuvar substation will be to replace station service components. This includes new equipment foundations, automatic transfer switches, pad mounted transformers, and other upgrades. The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) operates and maintains the Parker-Davis Transmission System and since the Liberty-Parker 230 -kV transmission line feeds into the Harcuvar Substation, WAPA is the project lead. The project is include in the Central Arizona Water Conservation District 2024-2025 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 7, 2024, information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
