Fernandina Beach (City) is seeking bids from qualified timber work Contractors to perform on-call services for replacing decking, handrails, stringers, and hardware on City Boardwalks at beach accesses. In addition, the City is seeking bids to repair wooden shade/picnic table structures in City Parks. The intent is for the City to perform routine visual examinations of the walkway/walkover timber structures to determine if repairs and/or replacement of the structural components are required. If repairs or replacement of components of the existing walkovers are found to be necessary, the City will contact the Contractor to perform an inspection to determine a cost to perform the repairs/replacement for submittal to the City. CITY reserves the right to reject any CONTRACTOR employee doing business for the awarded CONTRACTOR that has not received the proper safety training or is not performing work in a safe manner. Any costs resulting in a rejection of personnel will be solely at the CONTRACTOR's expense. Right to Inspect Work - CITY will have the right to inspect the work at all times. Such inspection will not relieve CONTRACTOR of any of its obligations to perform the work in strict accordance with the contract documents. Right to Reject Work - CITY will have the right to reject work which does not conform to the contract documents. Successful Bidder is required to have a Business License in the city where their home office is located. If Bidder's business office is located in the City of Fernandina Beach a business tax license is required. If the Base Bid or the Base Bid plus the sum of any alternates fall into the criteria above requiring a Bid Bond, the bidder shall enclose a Certified Check or Bid Bond with each bid. A Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid price and shall be made payable to the CITY OF FERNANDINA BEACH as a guarantee that the Bidder will not withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after Bid closing time
