The City of Chesapeake, VA has two water treatment plants: the Northwest River Water Treatment Plant and the Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant. The Northwest Water Treatment Plant is located at 3550 Battlefield Blvd. South, Chesapeake, VA 23322 and the Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant is located at 5416 West Military Highway, Chesapeake, VA 23321. The City's Northwest River Water Treatment Plant treats up to 10 million gallons per day (MGD) from the Northwest River. The plant also treats brackish groundwater from four wells along South Battlefield Boulevard. The plant's capabilities include both the conventional processes of coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration as well as reverse osmosis (RO) membrane treatment. The Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant provides 8 MGD of treated water for the City using low-pressure ultrafiltration technology. The plant currently treats raw water purchased from the City of Norfolk, but will, in the future, be able to treat Chesapeake water from Lake Gaston.ovide water treatment chemicals for the City of Chesapeakes water treatment plants.
