This bid is to resurface North Road and New Marlborough Branch Road in The Town of New Marlborough. The total project will consist of 215 tons of MassDOT approved binder and approximately 500 feet of curb for proper drainage per Highway Superintendent's specification. After a minimum of six weeks later, the contractor will return to apply approximately 1,530 square yards of liquid asphalt cutback at .5 gallons/square yard and spread 3/8" native stone and compact with pneumatic roller. The North Road portion of the project will start at the Route 57 intersection and will continue for approximately 460 feet. The surface is approximately 460 feet in length by approximately 18 feet in width. The New Marlborough Branch Road portion of the project will start at the Route 57 intersection and will continue for approximately 250 feet. The surface is approximately 250 feet in length by approximately 18 feet in width. Contractor will prepare and install driveway aprons per Highway Superintendent's specifications. Two, ten ton rollers will be required for the job, along with a sufficient number of trucks for transporting the material to the job site. The plane of the finished surface shall be smooth and acceptable to the Highway Superintendent with no more than a 2 to 2.5% crown. Town of New Marlborough is responsible for traffic control. The Town of New Marlborough reserves the right to take a sample out of any haul truck at any given time or check the temperature of the materials on site. The Town of New Marlborough reserves the right to take core samples of the binder to have tested to assure the product meets MassDOT specifications. Bidder shall guarantee their work and materials for a period of one year. All bidders shall provide, upon request of the Board of Selectmen, a resume of public work similar to the work proposed by this bid. This resume shall include approximate dollar amounts of the work completed and a brief description of the projects with names and contact information. Prevailing wage rates shall apply under Chapter 149, Sections 26 and 27. All contractors and subs shall be OSHA 10 certified.
