Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and supervision required to perform the scope of work detailed in the attached SOW, dated 06 March 2024. Please note that a firm-fixed priced contract is anticipated and is subject to the Davis Bacon Act. the magnitude of this project is less than $25,000 The Contractor shall begin performance within 15 calendar days and complete it within 90 calendar days Submit all questions in the format shown below by email to the contracting office at the addresses show below. A section of 2" copper (Contractor to verify) hot water supply line is leaking and needs to be replaced. The pipe is above the ceiling, and approximately 15' above floor level. A temporary fix has been devised by wrapping the pipe. Photos and diagrams are below but a site visit is strongly encouraged to better understand the work involved and how to access the area. After the repair is complete, the contractor shall bleed thirty-three (33) Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes to confirm there is not a blockage in the system that may prevent optimum performance. All VAV access is above the ceiling throughout the building with some areas difficult to access. The work shall begin after the heating season is over. 1. SCOPE 1.1. Contractor shall drain the heating system with coordination of the COR and base HVAC personnel. Draining to occur in mechanical room. Expect half a day for draining. 1.2. Once drained, contractor shall remove the damaged section of pipe, along with nearby elbow. A minimum of three feet on each side of the elbow must be replaced. 1.3. Contractor shall purchase and install a new section of the pipe including a new elbow. This section is estimated to require a new 2" pipe. Contractor shall verify the size of the pipe. 1.3.1. Replace pipe up to the insulation (about 3 ft on each side of the elbow). See pictures below. 1.3.2. Contractor shall field verify the size and material of construction of the pipe. Above sizing may not be accurate. 1.4. Contractor shall install insulation on the replaced section of the pipe. 1.5. Contractor shall refill the system with water and restore the pump pressure. This shall involve coordination with base COR and HVAC personnel. 1.6. Contractor shall treat the water with the chemical and filter supplied by the base. 1.7. Contractor shall then bleed thirty-three (33) VAVs throughout the building. 1.7.1. Bleed the VAVs until clear water comes out. 1.7.2. Care shall be taken to not spill water over the desks, ceiling tile, carpet, and anywhere else. 1.7.3. Contractor shall repair or replace in kind any property that is damaged. 1.7.4. VAV type and identification are in the table below. Contractor shall be familiar with how to bleed out each model of VAV. 1.7.5. As-built VAV locations are in the drawing below. 1.7.6. Heating system to be tested at conclusion of work to confirm no leaks, and that all VAVs are functioning properly. Testing to be monitored and signed off by COR and base HVAC personnel. 1.8. Contractor shall give a minimum of one week's notice before the work begins. 1.9. All work shall be completed within 2 weeks from the start date. 1.10. Contractor shall not shut down any utilities without letting COR know. Do NOT contact craftsmen or production control directly. Contractor is to work with the COR to schedule a utility shutdown. 1.11. Contractor shall provide all equipment necessary to perform the work including any lifts, hoists, rigging, and PPE. 1.12. At the conclusion of work, the Contractor shall fill out and sign a form DD1354 to signify the acceptance of the project by ANG and authorize the capitalization of the asset. The Project will not be approved past 95% payment without the DD1354 completed and ready for signature. Draft DD1354 is attached (Fill out the company information and the line cost per building. Contractor shall dispose, or recycle, all trash and debris incurred during project construction, off-base at an authorized recycle or disposal site by local, state, and federal requirements PN-F9S3S34003AW02
