The Town of New Milford (Town) seeks the services of a professional landscaper(s) licensed in the State of Connecticut with design, plant and maintain garden beds experience to provide landscaping. The Town of New Milford is requesting proposals from qualified professional firms, licensed in the State of Connecticut, to provide design, plant and maintain garden beds for the Town. Contract period shall be May thru November and adhere to the following timeline unless approved by the Director of DPW or their designee: Spring Cleanup and Planting: to be completed by May 15 raking, blowing, weeding and pruning of bed areas and removal of accumulated trash, debris and old plantings and disposed of by contractor planting of vegetation according to approved design Bi-Weekly Maintenance: every two weeks throughout the contract period raking, blowing, weeding and pruning of bed areas and removal of accumulated trash and debris and disposed of by contractor removal and replacement of dead or dying vegetation Fall Cleanup and Planting: to be completed by November 15th removal of all leaves, trash and debris from gardens and disposed of by contractor cutting back and/or pruning of plantings as necessary installation of Fall vegetation (ie: mums) in accordance with design Mulching: initial installation by May 15th, refreshed by October 15th contractor to supply and place shredded hardwood bark mulch sufficient to cover garden beds using an approved color gardens to be edged prior to installation excess mulch shall be removed off-site The project goal is to improve and maintain four existing garden beds located at: Still River roundabout, Rt 67/Grove St Intersection, Rt 7/Bridge St Intersection and Patriots Way. in the Town of New Milford. The Town is seeking to improve and maintain four existing garden beds located at: Still River roundabout, Rt 67/Grove St Intersection, Rt 7/Bridge St Intersection and Patriots Way. Services provided shall include removal and/or pruning of existing vegetation, installation of a combination of annuals, perennials and other pollinator vegetation (in keeping with the Towns values of being a Bee City) which maintains color May through November, installation of mulch within the gardens, watering and fertilizing as needed and the biweekly weeding and maintenance of gardens. All excess materials and debris to be removed and disposed of by the contractor. All plantings shall take into consideration the safety of pedestrians and/or vehicular traffic at the given location. All plantings shall be warrantied to last the season (minimum) and be replaced as needed at the cost of the contractor during contract duration.
