This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Fairfax, Virginia. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
Provide maintenance of traffic (MOT) to redirect traffic from the last entrance ramp at the intersection of Route 8 onto Ocean Gateway westbound to earlier entrance ramps to alleviate traffic on US18 and improve flow onto the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The contractor will provide a minimum of (2) crash attenuators, one (1) pickup truck with amber lights. Minimum work crew size is three (3). One person shall be certified as a Traffic Manager. The State Highway Administration (SHA) will supply variable message signs (VMS), barrels, barricades, and/or cones. Billing will be on an hourly rate basis, subject to traffic conditions at the direction of MDOT SHA D2 Office and could result in early dismissal or an extension. A typical workday will have maintenance of traffic in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Plus, one (1) hour before and one (1) hour after to open / close approximately fifty signs currently deployed leading up to the MOT site. In this example, that would be eleven billable hours per day. There is a possibility of maintenance of traffic on Mondays during 3-day holidays. Specific tasks include placing traffic attenuators at the left turn lane on Route 8 north, closing the entire 445 feet right turn lane from Route 8 south, setting up barricades and a staffed truck with amber lights at the on-ramp onto Ocean Gateway, and flipping signs. Please mail in or deliver your bids. Do not email, upload, fax, or call in your bid. If you have any questions, call the District Office at 410-778-3061, ask for John Lancaster, and reference the MOT of Bridge Traffic.
