The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a term contract with a bidder to provide annual services on as as-needed basis to paint, prime and removal of paint for traffic signal poles, pedestrian poles, mast arms, and back of signs on mast arms for the City of Fairfax, VA. The resulting contract will establish a ready, "as required" source for the items listed in this solicitation. The contractor tasks include: o General Requirements . The Bidder shall be in business for a minimum of five (5) years. o Contractor shall provide, but not limited to the following tasks: Surface preparation. Including removal of loose paint, algae growth, adhesive residue, sanding rough spots, etc. . Priming . Painting - Color shall match existing color. Paint shall be commercial or industrial exterior metal paint, oil-based, black semi-gloss, and rust preventative. Primer shall be commercial or industrial meal, oil-based, and rust preventative. Contractor shall abide by the VDOT (Virgnia Department of Transportation) WAPM (Work Area Protection Manual) standard. Daily records shall be signed at the end of each day. The records shall include, but not be limited to documenting each day's work type, location, and take photos (if necessary). Contractor shall clean all areas at the end of each workday. Contractor shall provide a one (1) year warranty on the paint for flaking and chipping. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The period of this contract shall be for an initial one (1) year period from the date of award. This contract may be renewed at the expiration of its term by agreement of both parties for three (3) additional one-year periods. The value of the resultant contract (all terms) shall not exceed $200,000. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the City to be in its best interest. If any prospective bidder has questions about the specifications or other solicitation documents, the prospective bidder should contact the Purchasing Agent no later than five working days before the due date. Any revisions to the solicitation will be made only by addendum issued by the Purchasing Agent
