Ashe Street Neighborhood and 4th Avenue Water and Sewer Replacement Description: The City of Hendersonville's Ashe Street Neighborhood and 4th Avenue Water and Sewer Replacement project consists of water replacement and sewer replacement and rehabilitation. Water system improvements include installation of approximately 5,000 linear feet of 6-inch and 350 linear feet of 8-inchductile iron water main, valves, water services and appurtenances. Sewer system improvements include replacement of approximately 3,090 linear feet of existing 4-inch, 6-inch and 8-inch gravity sewer with 8-inch gravity sewer, 20 linear feet of 10-inch, 50 linear feet of 12-inch, 250 linear feet of 14-inch,1,155 linear feet of 15-inch, manholes, services and appurtenances. Approximately 3,500 linear feet of existing 8-inch gravity sewer will be rehabilitated with CIPP and approximately 30 manholes lined. Included in the project are two bores under railroad facilities, one 16-inch diameter steel encasement for 8-inch diameter water main installation on 7th Avenue and one 30-inch diameter steel encasement on grade for 14-inch diameter sanitary sewer installation on 4th Avenue. The Project has an expected duration of 360 calendar days. Additional Description: Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders. The City reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any and all proposals for any reason determined to be in the best interest of the City, except for the purpose of evading the bid laws. If awarded, the project will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in the proposals (if required to be specified). Non-responsive bids will be rejected. It is the policy of the City to award public building contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age or disabling condition.
