Site work for a mixed-use development in Shirley, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Question Deadline 07/31/2024 at 4:30 PM ET furnish and install a new aeration system to oxygenate the 7-acre pond located at Patriots Preserve, Tri-Hamlet Park in Shirley Contractor shall supply all labor, materials equipment and any other incidental item necessary to furnish and install a series of sub surface bubblers/aeration diffusers (a minimum of six (6) 12" weighted diffusers) throughout the pond bottom with approx. 3500 feet of weighted hose at equal distances throughout. Three (3) .5 HP aeration units shall be utilized and housed in one lockable control box with a new control panel. Location already designated. TOB to provide 220V line and all applicable wiring and electrical work. An unbalanced bid is one in which the amount bid for one or more separate items is substantially out of line with current market prices for the materials and/or work covered thereby and wherein the hourly rates are lower than the published Prevailing Wage Rates as established by the New York State Department of Labour specific to the category/class of work required by the bid. The rate of wages determined by the New York State Industrial Commissioner pursuant to the Labour Law, which are to be paid on this project, are set forth herein. For those contracts that are subject to the Prevailing Wage Rate of the New York State Labour Laws, a bidder may request a wage increase upon submission by the Bidder of proof of such wage increase by the New York State Department of Labour. Any labour increase shall not exceed the amount of the actual increase in wages and supplements to be paid to laborers, workers and mechanics employed on a public work project as established by the New York State Department of Labour where the work is to be performed. All price changes are subject to the approval of the Requesting Department and implemented by the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Finance. The Town of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject and declare invalid any or all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, all in the best interests of the Town. The Town of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted in the qualifications statement or an investigation of such bidder fails to satisfy the Town that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work contemplated therein. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check on a solvent bank or trust company, or an acceptable bid bond , in an amount equal to 5% of the total amount bid, made payable to the Town of Brookhaven (herein referred to as "Owner"), as assurance that the bid is made in good faith. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Performance Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the annual amount of the contract. A surety company deemed acceptable to the Owner shall execute such bond. The bond shall be executed by a surety company authorized to transact business in New York State, with a rating of at least A, and in a payment bond form acceptable to the Owner. The successful bidder, upon failure to execute and deliver the bond required within ten (10) days after the date of notice of the acceptance of their bid
