This project provides funding for restoration of Smith Point County Park. Smith Point is one of the County’s most popular parks and the largest ocean-front beach. Located on Long Island’s Fire Island barrier beach, Smith Point overlooks both the Great South Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The park offers lifeguard protected swimming, public restrooms and showers, a food concession, campgrounds, fishing pier, outer beach access for saltwater fishing and boat ramp. Funds are included for: Design and construction of fishing pier Parking lot improvements - paving, striping and medians Construction of Smith Point Marina Reconfiguration of parking lots and drop off at main pavilion Emergent repairs for buildings and structures The project is included in the Suffolk County's 2026-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
